Kompakt’s latest round-up keeps the quality threshold high, and in truth there’s not a bad moment, let alone track, on the 22 selections for this compilation. Justus Kohncke’s ‘No Thanks For The Add’ gets things off to a great start, with live-sounding drums added to the mix. It’s not just instrumental tracks making the grade either, with the hook of Jonas Bering’s ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You’ staying long after the song has gone. Best of all, though, is Superpitcher’s remix of Congosound’s ‘Say I’m Your Number One’, which takes a shuffling beat and adds hazy chime sounds to a beautifully warm track. Gui Boratto, Dubshape, Maxime Dangles and Partial Arts all add to another delectable compilation from the Cologne label.
