A limited 45 release from Benedic Lamdin’s Nostalgia 77 project, which, with input from singer Lizzy Parks, demonstrating the mature direction the outfit has taken.  Not a million miles away from an Ella Fitzgerald torch bearer, the song languishes over gentle drums, punctuated by a hazy bassline for a lovely, evocative tune that lingers long after the static takes over the airwaves.  True, it’s not likely to tickle the dancing feet, but it is a wonderful song and show’s why Nostalgia 77 won Jazz Album of The Year on Gilles Peterson’s WWorldwideshow in 2006 – atmospheric and timeless music.
