Miss Melera is one of the latest stars to emerge of off the Dutch house and techno production line. This is her fourth release and original tracks Magenta and Mint have been remixed by Dave Seaman and Jonas Saalbach respectively. Magenta has a dark, unruly yet uplifting feel to it. It can only be described as the sort of peak time track guaranteed to make you move and put a smile on your face. Based on this track alone, the comparisons between Miss Melera and legends such as Sasha and John Digweed seem wholly justified. Dave Seaman’s remix emphasises all that is great about the original, with its dark, pounding bass. Mint is altogether lighter and less intense than Magenta, but still has all the components that make it a dark, dance floor slammer, with a sound that is rapidly becoming trademark Miss Melera. Jonas’ remix doesn’t waver too much from the original, apart from the introduction of some longing vocal sounds, adding emotion to an already brilliant track. Make no mistake, this is a first class EP from one of the most talented DJ/producers around at the moment.
