Young French producer Yves Schopin doesn’t like people talking about him, that’s natural, maybe even appropriate, for a boy of sixteen whose family tree incorporates two of Europe’s most famous sons. On his mother’s side, Yves feels something of the spirit of his relative, Arthur Schopenhauer, and the sense that life is essentially suffering brought on by the will to remix. On his father’s side, Yves channels fluid fingers, digits that dance prettily atop the same black and white keys that seduced his other distant relative and an icon of romanticism, Frederic Chopin. Yves doesn’t like to talk about his work, nor his means of production. What we are led to believe is that he lives in the ancient city of Amiens, 75 miles north of Paris.
