LCD Soundsystem are another U.S. act that are set to clean up at the U.K. festivals this summer. And to celebrate that fact, they are releasing ‘All My Friends’, their slightly warped version of the piano scream up, taken from their highly acclaimed album ‘Sound Of Silver’. James Murphy & his gang have really pulled off something a bit special here, coz they managed to get Franz Ferdinand and John Cale to do ãLCD Soundsystem Vs·ä mixes. The All dancing all singing Scottish modern day beat combo are up first, getting Erol Alkan to man the controls, while they stamp their own brand of pop all over it, reworking ‘All My Friends’ into an indie anthem. Meanwhile The Velvet Underground’s John Cale gives ‘All My Friends’ a bleak and paranoid Joy Division feel, which works big time. Both of these so called remixes are really cover versions, and they are exceptional as well as essential. You need this.
