Hell Ft. Bryan Ferry
U Can Dance
International Deejay Gigolo

The stunning fashionista anthem from DJ Hell’s double album “Teufelswerk” is getting a well deserved single release. In it’s original form “U Can Dance” features the iconic Bryan Ferry doing his distinctive crooning over percolating sophisticated Moroder-esque disco rhythms, and it works like a marriage made in heaven. Carl Craig is up first at the mixing desk, delivering two versions. “V.1” sees Carl Craig gradually building layers of atmospheric synths around the vocal, using his classic trademark Detroit sounds to great effect. On “V.2” ups the pressure and gets twisted. Nice. Tim Goldsworthy from New York’s DFA strips it back, then builds drums rhythms alongside sinister keys. Very dark. Simian Mobile Disco round off the package with roof raising spaced out electronics and a hypnotic driving groove. Massive.
