Trading as Outside, the duo of Martin Beaver and Justin Drake made considerable waves during the omnipresence of Junior Boys Own in the mid-90s before striking out to great success as Dylan Rhymes and Peace Division, respectively. Now the name returns with Martin on a solo mission, concocting a monster of a three-tracker which is set to cause damage in the traditional way. ‘Tapped Up’ is a malevolent bass-prowler which then gives way to a huge drop complete with snare action and filters, before the ominous low-end rumble of the thumping ‘Baby’. ‘Slit’ closes the set in deep, sparse and sinister fashion. Sometimes you think they don’t make ;’em like this any more so when someone does the result is utter, glorious carnage.
