Power pop from Manchester’s latest young pretenders – except the Waxplanet outfit are not from Manchester, but just happen to reside there, which gives their missive to the city, ‘Streets On Fire’, a certain clarity that other’s might lack. Cowbells, loud drums, four-part harmonies, euphoric guitar riffs may seem like an unlikely combination, but it works a treat in their hands, twisting and turning throughout so you never know when the end comes.
