Pirupa – ‘Bless You EP’ – (NONSTOP)

Pirupa is the now established Italian DJ and producer that has attracted a great deal of attention over the past few years. Originating from Italy but residing in London he has signed productions to an impressive list of respected record labels including Drumcode, Crosstown Rebels, Desolat, Snatch!, Get Physical, Defected, Saved, Noir Music and many more.

With his own respected label NONSTOP, Pirupa’s productions always retain a distinct feel, subtle retro influences and melodies, tough beats, unique vocal layers and mass dance floor appeal.

Respected by DJs and clubbers alike say 2016 will be Pirupa’s year.

Here he presents a three track E.P entitled ‘Bless You’ on his own imprint. The title track is the one that will probably gain the most attention thanks to a very famous sample (Toto’s ‘Africa’). The sample is used in a clever way without sounding cheesy (which isn’t too easy). Around the break we get Tech House from the finest quality with synth layers and staccato vocals that build into a main room bouncy peak time track. ‘Ninety’ is a more retro influenced house track with a distinct 90’s feel whilst the third track on the EP ‘Damn’ rounds the package off with a steadier, darker feel. Providing stimulating sounds and deep powerful tremors that attack from all angles, this track is sure to fill dance floors worldwide. All in all this is another promising release from Pirupa that is worth a check.
