Well respected for their independent British techno and releases on labels like Warp, the B12 duo recently decided it was time to fan the flames again, sticking to their original manifesto of electronic music for listening and dancing. Which, obviously, is great news for fans of emotive, meaningful techno. “32 Lineup” starts out with shuffling hi-hats, drum drops and a wonderfully nostalgic bass sound, carrying it through to the long, drawn out close that’s cloaked in dreamy synths. “Omni Therapy” is an angular electro cut (electro in the traditional sense of the word), awkward rhythms and the trademark B12 moodscapes. Finally, “Ashamed Of Me” is a terrific after dark cut, ambient electronics and a buzz-fly b-line shouldering the kind of soundtrack normally only heard in the mind’s stolen moments of isolation. Legendary outfit, suitably legendary sounds – acquire.
