Another rich and well-crafted soundscape of razor-sharp beats, striking chords and edginess from the Swede best know for his previous work with John Selway. By himself Smith has masterminded an amazingly simple, yet highly complex, arrangement of slow burning techno chords and melodies that boarders on breaks, techno and prog-house genres and could easily be compared in the same breath as ‘Knights Of The Jaguar’. Even the deep and burbling ‘Friendly Skies’ is anything but a filler with an equally retro ‘Strings Of Life’-feel and a return to the good old days when drum machines and sequencers could only hold a few seconds of data and so less-was-more. A release that should see the obviously talented producer in line for an honouree place in the Swedish House Mafia!
