Like Etienne De Cracy’s ‘Fast Track’ from almost 4 years ago Smith & Selway’s ‘Total Departure’ is a storming techno instrumental that’s actually amazingly simple in constituent parts but is such a crazed driving number when added to the relentless bassline that it’s likely to drive you over the edge in more ways then one. By all accounts one of the key moments of WMC ’08 with fans numbering Felix Da Housecat, Dubfire and Josh Wink, not least thanks to an equally strong Cirez D (aka Eric Prydz) remix that rounds the edges a little but still makes you feel like you’re roaring down a German autobahn in a Bugatti Veyron driven by The Stig on acid!
