White Noise

Despite the quality of the first two releases by Mr Hobbs on the label started under the umbrella of his White Noise promotions company they couldn’t prepare anybody for this beauty. In a word, it’s stunning; Detroit-flavoured deep techno of the highest order based around an eerie space motif which starts floating in the clouds and ends up in the furthest galaxy as something quite transcendentally uplifting, euphoric even. Muted acid bubbles underneath and, with the strings, sometimes conjures a mood not unlike garnier’s ‘Acid Eiffel’, except hijacked by aliens and injected with pure opium. In another word, a classic. The remix by Hotflush supreme Scuba, aka Paul Rose, is a perfect compliment, injecting a ghostly dubstep mood in the scattershot beats and cavernous textures. Very exciting indeed.
