Mutant Clan is Timo Maas and Santos, out for a second shot with two skilled outings into the unknown, which is where the best techno usually lurks, usually with a Detroit sign-post in sight. ‘Perfect Place’ is 13 beautiful minutes of metallic riff action, Basic Channel style while shot with drama and atmosphere. ‘Parallel World’ heads off on a tribal space-jazz surfboard, encountering a shuddering organ solo and a whole barrage of exotic sonic delights.
