Monumental slab of incendiary interaction going off here as members of the Minus touring party divert their energies into sonic explosion instead of TVs out the window. Minus have started a series to deal with such collaborations and the first is a blinder. First, Pierce and Heartthrob hoist the original by speeding it up, adding a rolling bass pulse and rodent penis manipulations amidst the metallic whackings which keep time as the track builds a formidable head of steam. The beer-crate percussion even takes on a jazzy flavour and it’s great fun. Then Gaiser joins Heartthrob for a sewer-cruisjng take on Prince put through a minimal psycho-blender which is deep, atmosphere-loaded and filthily sexy with those whispery vocals. If this is what they get up to for on-the-road fun, I’m all for it!
