With each delirious 12-inch they fired out on Junior during the first half of this decade Mathew Roberts and Matt Thomas seemed to dictate how house music would blow up floors for the ensuing few months while performing some serious surgery on other people’s tackle. They’ve now decided to consolidate their greatness by making these singles available online with new mixes while uncorking some new tracks too. Good idea, heralded by the mighty ‘Sugarhigh’. There’s no way the soaring majesty of the original can ever be capped but Nic Fanciulli and Gui Boratto give it a good stab, both opting to strip the track down to its turbo-pants then rebuilding with components of a minimal nature, although the former’s riffage nods at ‘French Kiss’. Looking forward to hearing new track ‘Hinode’, inspired by Tokyo’s Yellow.
