Lee’s collaboration with Philip Quenum resulted in last year’s sublime As Told on The Eve Of…. Now he makes his solo Soma debut with a pair of distinctive groin-rattlers of a slightly darker hue. The lead cut starts like Blondie’s ‘Heart Of Golass’ percussion-wise before building into a shimmering sonic wall of ethereal melodies and scary stabs. ‘King Convex Stylus’ strips down to bulgatron minimal boxers to pulse, throb and shudder through with huge power nicely topped by hypnotic counter-melodies. A lot of thought went into making this a dancefloor destroyer, almost a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but the stiffie gives it away.
