Amsterdam-based Shinedoe has carved a name for incendiary DJ sets and
sublime future-funk on her Intacto label. Now comes one of the ultimate
accolades – supplying a mix for the venerable Fuse club’s series which has
already thrust forth belters from the likes of Dave Clarke, Hell and Joris
Voorn. This is how you do it, a proper jouney, starting with the
subterranean deep house of Substance & Vainqueur’s ‘Reverbrate’ then gliding
through an exemplary selection including Ron Trent & Chez Damier, Roy David
Jr, Daniel Mehlhart before subtly upping gear into Denis Ferer and
Minologue. The lady’s own ‘Dialogue’ makes a shimmering appearance before a
breathtaking home stretch sees the Wink mix of Harry Romero and Robert
Owens’ ‘I Go Back’ mating with UR’s euphoric ‘Final Frontier’ before Gui
Boratto’s ‘The Blessing’ lays it down to rest. Afterwards you feel
exhilarated and all the better for having experienced one of the great mix
albums.
