Yes, the Close Encounters synth melody, when the alien staggers out of the mothership and drops his keks, gets another rinse. There were some great electronic disco versions of this at the time and Italian DJ-producer Milly plants the distinctive notes over a suitably-spacey minimal excursion, whichh is then thickened and warped by Luca Doobie. Meanwhile, ‘Shibuya 109’ – so named because the vocal sample was captured on the Tokyo Metro – homes in on creating a driving, locomotive groove bolstered by nifty drum programming. All these stand out from the norm.
