This is one of those tunes which doesn’t make much fuss or pack too much in
its lunchbox then proceeds to demolish parties big and small for months on
end. Matt Edwards has been on a huge roll all year but this seems to
encompass all his strongest elements, stripping them down to pulsating
turbo-jockeys to come out with an absolute monster. A resonating bell-tone
drone-groove is set up and simply rolls for ten minutes while welcoming
scrotum-tickling 80s boogie riffs, acid shadows and atmospheric
counter-melodies which build into a dancefloor destroyer of mesmerising
impact. Sebo K’s remix manages to retain that hypnotic feel but somehow
works in a vibrant under-carriage of ‘Plastic Dreams’, the middle riff from
‘French Kiss’, early 90s NYC deep house and stark vocal clip to create an
umbilical parallel universe. Double dynamite.
