Still they keep coming. The latest in the stream of electronic killer missiles which Soul Jazz have unleashed this year comes from none other than Steve Pickton,aka Paul W. Teebrooke amongst other nom de technos he’s appeared under for labels like Op-Art, Mo Wax and Peacefrog. His four tracks here are glowing assimilations of styles including classic Detroit techno, NY deep house, disco-boogie and Chicago techno. ‘Tales Of The Faded City’ plumbs a slo-mo funk house squelch-vamp at 100bpm. Masterful stuff.
