New signings to Bristol’s Four Twenty label feature Japanese-born DJ Tomoki who’s now based in London running the hot Holic night at The End. He’s joined by his old mucker Nono and the pair have created a pair of deftly-designed killers which will definitely do something to the roof of that club. ‘Voices’ is propulsive and chunky sprinkled with glacial melodic icicles and strange vocal shards while ‘3 Years’ whips up a booming bass undertow enhanced by 808 percussion over which another voice yelps and power-drill ghosts hover. Manuel Tur’s remix takes it deeper into house waters, adding haunting melodies and extra sonic dimensions. Worth checking out.
