Robert Rivera’s Check it Out Records probably aren’t releasing too much material, but when they do you can be sure of finest quality house music included. Richard Pring (aka True2Life) returns after his first outing in 2013 with ‘Latino Way’ offering his first vocal track for the label. Titled ‘Reach’, this is a 90’s house inspired jam that oozes class from the get-go. The deep, organ like riff, classic piano and warping baseline lay a perfect bed for featured vocalist, former Strictly Rhythm artist, Phillip Ramirez’ falsetto tones. True2life strips things back with the Hold On Dub, but still adding an injection of funk to proceedings. The package also includes a rather huge Demarkus Lewis Remix, he takes it down a few notches and goes deeper -reversed chords and a dark, heavy bass line add to the tripped out vibe. To round off the magnificent package label boss Robert Rivera adds a cool dub, which is also my personal favourite.
