Trainspotting with Stoim

DJ, producer and songwriter Stoim, aka Kostas Stoimenidis, hails from Greece, but has been busy for the last 20 years carving a name for himself on the Toronto House scene. Having turned his hand to producing only in 2020, Stoim released his debut single ‘Forgive’, which featured remixes from Coflo and Luyo on Double Cheese and he has since released on Soul N’ Pepa, Soulstice, Groove Culture, Celsius Degree, Arawakan, FunkHut and more on Double Cheese. As he gets set to release his fabulous new Disco single,’Come To Me Again’ with acclaimed soulful diva, Sulene Fleming (Brand New Heavies / Incognito), DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with Stoim.

1 Stoim ft. Sulene Fleming –   Come To Me Again (Richard Earnshaw Extended ReVibe) – Soul N Pepa

I wanted to work with Sulene for quite some time. Love her passionate delivery. She just takes you there to be part of the story. With Richard we have worked before and I knew he was gonna do his thing and be awesome at it as he always is. Really happy with their artistic contribution on my song. Proud for this one and there is already a Stoim & Sulene Follow-up in the works.

2 MissFly, Brutha Basil, Kelvin Sylvester – She Is A Queen (Brukel Music Vocal Mix) – Brukel Music

Basil’s voice has been a staple in most house sets from the late 90’s. MissFly, who is also a  fellow Torontonian, delivers a very warm and intimate vibe with her sing-alongs on this one. Would love to work with her at some capacity in the future.

3 Doug Gomez – A Vida E Boa, A Vida E Sol (Original Mix) – Merecumbe Recordings

I’m a big fan of most of Doug’s productions, so this is just one more on the list of great tracks he always belts out. Recently he remixed my upcoming debut on Nervous Records “Dancing On 3rd Street” – stay tuned for that one.

4 Deep Soul Syndicate – Cala Matano (Original Mix) – Soulstice Music

Taken from the label’s “Finest House” summer compilation, this is a sexy groove that is simply infectious, jazzy and groovy! Deep Soul Syndicate have also remixed one of my songs that Emory Toler performed on and will be released later this year called “Don’t Stop Me Now”.

5 Stoim ft. Unqle Chriz – Fairytales (Original Mix) – FunkHut Records

FunkHut is always synonymous with class and stylish productions so I was really happy to be included on their roster with my 3rd collaboration with the South African silky smooth voice of Unqle Chriz. Vulnerability and sensitivity is poured into this one and you can tell it’s special in many ways.

6 Christos Fourkis – Let The Spirit (Original Mix) – Deep Soul Space

From my motherland. I’m so happy to see so many Greek artists, producers and labels turning out amazing music. Everything is top quality here, from the percussion to the horns, the vocals and the bass. It rocks!

7 Bonetti – Ipanema (Mijangos Latin House Mix) – Groovy Riddim Records

From label owner Bonetti, remixed by the man that can do no wrong. This captivates the summer vibes,  it’s euphoric and always moves the crowd. Irresistible.

8 Moussa Diakite – Danaya (Coflo Remix) – Ocha Remix

Music from Mali influenced and inspired the entire African continent from the late 70’s to this day. One of Africa’s finest exports (currently in Sydney). His Guitar style is easily recognizable for being melodic and rhythmic at the same time. Coflo is the perfect candidate to bring those elements in harmony with house beats, baselines that move you and keeps things fresh and exciting.

9 Diephuis & Eastar – The Summer Of Love (Diephuis Extended Journey Mix) – Diephuis Records

When these 2 Dutchmen join forces, only wonderful things happen musically and this is around 10 mins of brilliance. A true journey with a track that keeps on building and building. Join in for a non-stop dancing experience.

10 Eltonnick, Lizwi – Ingehlule   – Baainar Records

With Eltonnick we worked on “Servant of God” one of my tracks released earlier this year, but I’ve been a fan of His work since 2012 when I first heard “Move”. Lizwi has been on my Radar since 2017 so to see those two extremely talented individuals partner up for this heater, I just knew it would be a part of my sets for quite some time!

Stoim ft. Sulene Fleming ‘Come To Me Again’ (Incl. Richard Earnshaw Remix) is out August 20th 2021 on Soul N’ Pepa
