We all want to save Fabric, right? Well here’s one of the best ways you can help, by acquiring Scuba’s new comp. He was actually one of the last DJs to play at the club before the doors were shut – hopefully temporarily – so he is in a great position to deliver a meaningful mix. He doesn’t disappoint, with a dark mix that often combines two or three tracks at once to keep the momentum high. The beats are key, with a dark lower end and only occasional bursts of treble, in that way painting a vivid picture of the club itself. Tracks like Isaac Reuben’s nippy ‘sas1711’ crackle in the darkness, and his ‘Echo Pulse’ makes a big impact later on, while there is a brilliant injection to the lower end when Literon’s ‘Freak Frequency’ rubs shoulders with Markus Suckut’s ‘Symbiosis’. Worth getting on two grounds – to help the club and to relish the 90th instalment of this incredible series.
