Back To Mine With Juliann

Hailing from Paris, Juliann discovered his passion for music at an early age, influenced by a diverse range of genres from house and techno to hip-hop and funk. As a DJ, Juliann fluently mixes a wide array of genres, from tribal and deep techno to house, indie dance, and even a touch of world music. Juliann made his first appearances in Paris’s hippest clubs, such as Mirage and Gate, and has since expanded his gigs across Europe, the Middle East, and even Saint Martin for Ramyen’s Mellow Festival. Notably, he opened at Gate for iconic acts like Adriatique, Dixon, Argy and more. In addition to his DJing, Juliann is a talented musician. He co-founded his own label, Temps Libre, with Assayag, where they push innovative sounds. In December 2023, he dropped his well-known track ‘A Porta’ on Temps Libre. Juliann also released ‘Long Kiss Good Night’ on Knee Deep with Birds of Mind. As his ‘All I Do’ EP lands on Paranormal, DMCWorld goes Back to Mine with Juliann.

Stevie Wonder – Superstition

To me, this is pure instinct, one of those records that reminds me that groove is everything, and that when something feels right on a physical level, you don’t need to question it or overthink anything around it.

Daft Punk – Around the World

I’ve always loved how little it tries to do, and how it embraces repetition in such a confident way, that’s something that really stayed with me creatively.

PNL – Le Monde Ou Rien

There’s something very distant and cinematic about it, like it creates its own world, and PNL have definitely been a huge inspiration for me in that way.

DJ Mehdi – Pocket Piano

It feels simple on the surface, but there’s a depth to it that always hits me, and as a French artist it’s impossible not to feel how important DJ Mehdi’s legacy is.

Röyskopp – What Else Is There?

I’m drawn to how it builds tension without ever really resolving it, keeping you in that suspended emotional space the whole time.

Lenny Kravitz – I Belong To You

This one always feels warm and effortless to me, like a reminder that sometimes simplicity carries the most emotion.

Bob Sinclar – I Feel For You

It carries a kind of lightness I really connect with, and that French touch energy is something that naturally influenced my taste early on.

Michael Jackson – You Rock My World

It’s incredibly smooth, and what stands out to me is how every detail feels intentional without ever losing its natural flow.

Sade – No Ordinary Love

I like how it takes its time and lets the emotion settle, which is something I’ve learned to appreciate more and more over time.
