KLOUDs is comprised of Ukrainian-born Sam Levin (aka Zullah) and Israel’s Itay Menashe (aka Fistuk), who came together last year over a shared love of electronic music. They first met on a Sound Engineering program at Yoav Gera Sound School and have since blended their love of fresh rhythms and emotional soundscapes into a new style that draws inspiration from tribal grooves to raw percussion, hip-hop drums to soulful trance, all with a firm focus on the dancefloor. As they release their debut ‘Palm EP’ on connected, DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with KLOUDs.
Boddhi Satva & OVEOUS – Free Your Mind (Luch Remix) – Atal Music
This one was an easy choice. In our opinion you can open almost every set with this absolute bass oriented-minimal beauty of a track. The brilliantly enveloped bass coated with a gliding synth both complementing the drums and vocals perfectly. Can’t skip none of the drops – that’s a rule.
Black Coffee &Me – The Rapture pt.III (HAGE Edit) – No Label
By far the best Remix/Edit made for this absolute masterpiece of an instrumental. Emotionally overwhelming but in the best way possible. And the percussion section? The rhythmic shakers opening and setting the stage for a beautiful piano and of course – the vocals.
Fiddla – Apocalypse – Connected
Classic Afro House. But in the best sense of the word. We are huge enthusiasts of tribal vibes – whether it’s in vocals, chants, drums, strings, and this track has them all. The build and the length gives you a variety of choices in terms of where to mix the track into your set.
Genish & SHIRAN – Layla – Ya Hala Ya Hala Records
The next thing we absolutely love right after tribal vibes is middle eastern vibes. And Genish touches the spot perfectly with this track. The vocals put you in a trance while the bass keeps you moving. Great track to drop in the peak of a night set in the desert.
Maz & VXSION – Amana – Dawn Patrol Records
One of our favorite piano progressions to date. Especially when the synth hits you and carries you into the drop, wow. The combination between minimalism with the aforementioned tribal vibe and about a handful of excitement – all wrapped up into a one 6 minute masterpiece.
Kaybe – My Haus – Duenia
This one is a club banger – that much we can say without hesitation. We can imagine ourselves entering the club at any point in the evening to this track. Fits every situation – especially when you want to dance. The build up for the drop, met with a festival energy impact finally finished with sharp, stabby chords that make you bounce.
Landau & Bradeasy – Nonstop – Siona Records
The brass – hits different every time, especially when the bass was tailor-made for this brass. Definitely smoke coming out of every sound system during this one. Perfect for every DJ set and a good run. We would categorize the genre of this track as ‘Pure Adrenaline’.
Luigi Gori, go Dratta – Mama Gloria (feat. The Garrifuna Collective) – MoBlack Records
Another classic Afro House energizer. And fresh out of the oven too. Constantly exploring new music has its perks – and we happened to stumble upon this great track – perfectly able to bring any dancefloor alive.
Fairtone – Don’t This – Emilarge Records
A superb combination of Organic House with Afro House, with small hints of Techno in the vocals and bass. If you’re looking for a track with a presence – this is the one. We love the mellow tempo with the uplifting bass and groovy percussion. This track is one of the inspirations for one of our upcoming tracks – Palm.
Aheadadream x Priya Ragu x Skrillex – Taka – Major Recordings
Last but not least, you can’t go wrong with a super team like this – and with Skrillex? Absolute mic drop. One thing we could always say – you can’t put a genre on Skrillex. Flawlessly produced track, professionally chopped vocals and of course – you can’t help but dance when this one’s on.
KLOUDs ‘Palm EP’ is released August 8th on connected.
