Another instalment of SLOK’s tales of Italy, in which we get a good view of the varied house and techno hybrid styles he has at his disposal. His own track ‘The Underground’ is an early plus point, with its easy but surefooted funk, while Jonny Cruz reveals a killer combination of cool and dark for ‘Cruel Bliss’. On a different tip The Realbirds offer the cutting ‘Who Is Kaiser Soze’, DJ Glen & Vitor Munhoz bring forward a rather disconcerting number in the dark ‘No Directions’, and Javier Carballo gets one of the trump cards with ‘Juanito’s Way’. A mention should also go to Joe Le Groove & Mr Lefteye for their nippy ‘Why Why Why’, its crispy beats a worthy addition to a compilation that shows off the different colours Petz can paint on the dancefloor these days.
