Welcome to Suara 24 is fun from the outset with Adrian Hour’s spoken vocal prompted ‘Move That Dope’ which has insistent zipped noises and sirens, devilish Diplo-esque knuckle-crack sounding flamenco clicks, a sloppy slappy beat and a soulful vocal that brings it and returns it. Alberto Ruiz hits the foundry for a molten steel and barbed wire fence uptempo romp with hissing steam, pumping pistons and high pressure sounding presses going at it hammer and tongs and skittering special effects turning up the heat – it’s only ever all about the party. Don’t be fooled by the pony trot beat and non-stop snare brushing in Lluis Ribalta’s ‘Catarsis’ – it blooms into a highly strung, looped hypnosis so think on. Marcos In Dub’s ‘Khao Manee’ is a high fibre, parping, corporeal treat. Bombs all. Do not miss.
