Further global communications resulting in a towering slice of Motor City heaven as DJ 3000 – one of the brightest stars to spring from the UR firmament – and the ever-stunning Fabrice Lig combine for a double-header on the former’s Motech imprint. The pair have created together before, on the ‘Ancestors’ EP, and now take a side each. DJ 3000’s ‘Balkan Bridge’ is a tough surge built on one of those hyper-riffs and his trademark percolating percussion. Fabrice’s ‘Au Pont Des Ames Perdues’ is an epic in the classic UR style of climactic chords and swelling pads joined by a succession of new sonic additives. It climbs and climbs before dropping into an unexpected but deadly effective jazzy interlude. It’s a fitting way to mark the tenth release of a label which is now one of the most formidable in techno.
