Russ Denman from Brighton here with a quartet of rectum-rattlers marking his debut on the esteemed Mixtape label. ‘Auxhalic’ savagely lays down the pounding grooves template with battering kick, hyper-active hihats and clanking riffs before ‘Praha 1’ whips up a similar storm peppered with tribal whoopee and a spot of insane cackling – always good for the loony-quotient. ‘Rchord’ uses female vocals over queasy techno to unsettling effect while ‘Skinks’ takes a housier route with future-funk elements. Name to watch.
