Not Doing It For The Quids
Full Time Hobby

London’s Full Time Hobby is one of the UK’s best and most respected indie labels, and those lovely people that run it have put together a story so far 10 track compilation. “Not Doing It For The Quids” is an apt title coz recommended retail price is a wallet soothing £1.99. Highlights include the brilliant Micah P. Hinson with the tearjerking “Tell Me It Ain’t So”. Thee band of the moment White Denim have a psychedelic wig out on “Mess Your Hair Up”. Malcolm Middleton of Arab Strap fame has a jolly up with “A Brighter Beat”. The Hold Steady serve up a slab of new wave in the shape of “Your Little Hoodrat Friend” and Viva Voce get on a wasted groove with the hedonistic “Lesson No.1”. “Not Doing It For The Quids” is not only inspiring, but it’s the bargain of the year that’s not destined for the bargain bucket.
