Mirror Music are one half of Silicone Soul, Graeme Reedle, and long time friend Dave Donaldson. They make music that captures the signature Darkroom Dubs sound – nocturnal, atmospheric house that evokes the city over easily funky bass lines, cool pianos and deep, dark house beats. ‘Gateway’ is a cool piece of piano driven mood music, rhythmic too, while ‘Rack And Ruin’ is a bit more explicit in its ’80s references. ‘Gravity Groove’ leans perhaps too far towards an acid jazz bass line, but the following ‘Sight Unseen’ brings us back to raw, bass driven house – a rewarding and tense number. No need to change the dial for Dubs fans then – and a nocturnal treat either for the home stereo or the deeper house floor.
