Kenneth Bager’s been a busy guy of late, what with some Balearic Biscuits to put together as well. In the latest folk compilation to deny it’s actually folk music, he does another good job of pulling out some obscurities to rub shoulders with more obvious choices. Arthur Russell’s ‘Home Away From Home’ is a treat, as is Fionn Regan’s ‘The Underwood Typewriter’, while Bager himself contributes ‘Fragment 24’. Nice to see Bird included as well, with ‘Little Steps’, while Josh Rouse wraps things up with a Christmassy number, ‘Snowy’. As always from Bager, something a little different – one of those compilations that gives you some laid back music with a number of names to follow up on.
