Masters at Work “To Be In Love” – MAW 1997
Probably one of my all time MAW vocal house tunes – India’s vocals make my hairs stand on end. I once saw a girl cry on the dancefloor when I played this tune – she was over taken with emotion (she was probably high) but hey I was feeling her vibe!
Urban Soul “Show Me” (David Morales Remix) King Street 1997
I started working at Def Mix in 1995 – And around 1997 we decided to start Definity Records and I was in charge of looking for new demos. My good friend Roland Clark comes to the office to play me ‘Show Me’ – I love it but Morales and Judy Weinstein are not so sure about it. Some times passes and ‘Show Me’ gets signed to King Street and Hisa calls on Morales to remix it. Long story short it becomes a classic for King Street and Morales. I still wish we had signed it!! I’m currently compiling a new mix compilation for King Street and I’ll be including this in the mix – due out Fall of this year.

Robert Owens “I’ll Be Your Friend” – RCA 1991
Not many people know this but this tune was recorded in Morales’ Brooklyn apartment on a 8 Track recorder with Robert cutting vocals in the bathroom and Satoshi Tomiie rocking keys – basically it was a magical session and def goes down as a Top 10 House classic. You will dance to this at my after party!!
