Back To Mine with FooR

We spoke to Gavin Foord to get the lowdown on his Back To Mine favourites. He’s picked a selection featuring pre and post-show favourites including G Unit, Oasis, SAINT JHN, Erasure, and many more. Dive in below.

1. G Unit – G Unit

Always the first tune on when getting ready for a gig, it gets me so fired up.

2. Erasure – A Little Respect

One year in Ibiza we had an 80s themed villa party for a friends birthday and ever since we’ve all sung this at every get together.

3. Man Like Me – London Town

This song should be huge, I do the dance and everything when this comes on!

4. Oasis  – Cigarette & Alcohol

I was obsessed with Oasis when I was younger, I dressed like Liam, had my hair like him, dreamed of being on stage like him, so I always listen to this before big shows.

5. Youssou N’Dour x Neneh Cherry – 7 Seconds

This track is in my top 3 favourite songs to sing along to, and is the only track that can be played before or after a gig, it swings both ways.

6. SAINt JHN x Lenny Kravitz  – Borders

I have heard this song on the radio constantly since it came out, SAINt JHN is one of my favourite artists at the moment and Lenny? Well, Lenny is a legend.

7. Teyana Taylor – Gonna Love Me

As soon it starts and that sample kicks in, my eyes close, and my head starts nodding, gets me every time.

8. Jagged Edge – I Gotta Be

Me and my best friend ‘Lee’ love Jagged Edge, I booked them to play a gig in Southampto, and afterwards we got to party with them and they answered all of our fan boy questions, one of the best nights of my life!

9. Donell Jones – This Luv

One day I will make a song with Donell Jones and I will ask him questions about every song on this album, one of my favourites of all time.

FooR x Majestic X Dread MC ‘Fresh’ has grown into one of UK dance music’s hottest records of 2020. Originally released on FooR’s now seminal mixtape, ‘Friends Of FooR’, and now signed to Warner Records, ‘Fresh’ returned to dancefloors late last year, before being picked as the soundtrack for the current Coors Light TV ad campaign.

Championed by the likes of Radio 1’s MistaJam and DJ Target, FooR have released a slew of singles including ‘3 Words’ and ‘Black Bandana’. They’ve become part of the rising wave of global bass music, alongside Jauz, Holy Goof, Skepsis, and others, but are equally at home remixing the likes of Wretch32, Tinchy Stryder, Ghetts, and co. Their live shows and DJ sets have seen them build a growing following in the UK and internationally, with memorable dates including Ushuaia, Bestival, Isle Of Wight Festival, EDC, Boardmasters, Motion, Ministry of Sound, Bass Jam, Pier Jam, Budafest, Spring Break Festival, 3 shows at ADE, Main Stage set at Common People, Sidewinder Festival, Bass Fest, and beyond.
