Newcastle-based producer and vocalist Artche, has already collaborated to great effect with the likes of Franky Wah and Cristoph on Eric Prydz’s Pryda Presents and also released solo on SHÈN Recordings. His mix of deep house and techno has won fans like Pete Tong and Lane B, and he asserts his skills once more here. As he lands back on Last Night On Earth with a dramatic second collaboration with Sasha titled ‘Hold On’, DMCWorld goes Back To Mine with Artche.
Radiohead – Creep
Even though it’s a rip off of ‘The Air That I Breathe’, this is definitely my top home listening track. Very melancholic which grows throughout the track.
The Stranglers – Time To Die
The best bass guitar riff of all time by JJ Burnel. Definitely their best song for me.
Pulp – Common People
A classic of the 90’s with almost spoken vocals. Similar to Creep how the track builds throughout.
Eyes On Fire – Blue Foundation
Love the dreamy vocals in this one alongside another classic guitar riff. The most easy listening of the list for me.
Depeche Mode – Enjoy The Silence
My favourite song from Depeche Mode. Love the combination of 80’s synths, choirs & guitars in this.
Rufus Du Sol – Underwater
It’s all about the chorus in Underwater. Amazing vocals and synth shots which really make this record.
Bicep – Vale
Such a cool track with the short shabby bassline underneath the vocal which closely follows the same style.
The Stranglers – Relentless
Back to my favourite band of the 70’s/80’s with another amazing bassline from JJ. Not one of their most popular tracks but definitely up there for me.
Where Is My Mind? – Pixies
Again the combination of unique vocals and heavily distorted electric guitar, what’s not to love?
Depeche Mode – Policy Of Truth
A close second to Enjoy The Silence. Plenty different synth lines in this one which work so well together.
Sasha & Artche ‘Hold On’ is out now on LNOE.
