Back To Mine With Buridan

Buridan is a man on form right now. The techno innovator has landed on labels like Alan Fitzpatrick’s Apex Faction, and We Are The Brave, as well as Tronic, and with each new release, he searches out ever-more original musical realms. In a short space of time, he has made his mark with great melody and moving grooves that have had big support from tastemakers like Adam Beyer and now makes his debut on Sasha’s innovative Last Night On Earth with his sophisticated ‘Homer EP’. DMCWorld goes Back To Mine With Buridan.

Led Zeppelin – Physical Graffiti

I grew up appreciating Zeppelin a couple decades after they were done.  But this is a masterpiece right next to Houses of the Holy.  It boggles my mind how much they did in such a short time period back then.

Ten Years Gone (Remaster)

Steely Dan – The Royal Scam

Discovered in my Mom’s record collection when I was a kid.  Steely Dan was an acquired taste for sure, but this album had a bit of everything, timeless guitar riffs, funky keys, jazzy chord progressions, and silly lyrics with double meanings.

Pink Floyd – Animals

Primarily because of Dogs.  Iconic guitar solos, Incredible composition, sound design, and super spacey. One of the many notable albums released in 1977 – an epic year for music lovers.

Fleetwood Mac – Rumors

Almost 50 years later it still goes off. Flawless from start to finish.

Second Hand News (2004 Remaster)

Talking Heads – Remain In Light

The primary reason I bought my first synth – to join a talking heads cover band that ended up playing one gig.

Miike Snow – Miike Snow

This was THE album for me. It was the one that affirmed that I needed to create electronic music. It was still underground/indie music and was weird and moody and emotional but had just enough of the catchy Swedish pop vibe to want to sing along. This was the beginning of my obsession with four on the floor.

Miike Snow- Animal

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs – Trouble

What a special and unique album. It was a refreshing break from the mainstream EDM era and opened up so much musical possibility and inspiration.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Promises

Moderat – II

Further cemented my mindset towards electronic music. Can’t say enough about how great this album is in every way. The production and dark moody tone is everything I want from an electronic album.  Their other albums are incredible, but this one I’ve spent the most time with over the years.

Moderat - The Mark (Interlude)

Foals – Holy Fire

A modern classic. Perfectly well rounded indie rock/pop. When it was released it oozed with nostalgia and meaning. 10 years later I still listen to this on a regular basis and sounds just as brilliant as it did then.

Foals - Milk & Black Spiders [Official Audio]

Disclosure – Settle

A massive album for dance music and full of hits. It was released around the time I started DJing. I remember testing some of the songs out on an unaware crowd, and thinking, this is a total vibe!

Buridan ‘Homer EP’ is out now on LNOE.
