Back To Mine with Pinaud

Raw Analog Funk duo Ben Men and Rob Malone are now stepping out with a brand new label project, Mondo Dingo Records. The Paris based indie promises to be a purveyor of all sounds deep and soulful and the first release comes from self-taught multi-instrumentalist Pinaud with remixes from Parisian based Peter Raw and the Raw Analog Funk band themselves. Pinaud’s style is imprinted in everything he does – intense grooves, deep basslines and a lightness of touch that has helped make him a well-established musician and DJ in Rio de Janeiro. His mixture of organic sounds with the bass and beats of house music and plenty of soul and 70s disco overtones has taken him to events and clubs all over Latin American and labels like Manga Rosa and Barco do Amor. The Carioca self-taught multi-instrumentalist dedicates this EP to the “cidade maravilhosa.” DMCWORLD dedicates his Back To Mine to the lovers of all things coooooooool….

Cassiano “Onda”
It’s one of my biggest influences, unfortunately he just passed away, another special artist that we lost due to covid-19. One of the greatest precursors of soul music in Brazil, he influenced many names such as: Tim Maia, Jorge Benjor and Cláudio Zoli. The song “Onda” was the soundtrack to one of the videos of my boat party in Rio de Janeiro: Barco do Amor : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h3PxWk-zfo&ab_channel=EduardoNery

Tim Maia “Acenda O Farol”
One of the great icons of Brazilian music, with a legacy of mandatory listening by any citizen of the world.

Di Melo “Kilariô”
He’s a northeastern Brazilian who is also known as the immortal, due to the fact that he disappeared many years after his 1975 album burst.

Mutantes “Top Top”
They became famous through music festivals in the late 1960s, which were the main attraction of Brazilian television, where artists could express themselves freely, even in the face of a military dictatorship. This was how the Tropicália movement emerged. The godfather of this band was none other than Gilberto Gil.

Chico Science “A Praieira”
The king of manguebeat arrived to revolutionize, a true architect of Brazilian music that influences me and many musicians and producers today.

Jacob do Bandolim “Vibracoe”
I listen a lot Jacob do Bandolim, his unremitting efforts for disseminating knowledge and love for genuine Brazilian music, first and foremost choro and related genres achieved a well-deserved fame and respect.

Cátia de França “O Bonde”
Simply a record I love “20 Palavras ao Redor do Sol”.

Os Tincoãs “Deixa a gira girar”
The trio of Bahians from the 60’s who exalt, through music, the culture of candomblés and our African roots. All the albums are incredible, including vocalist Matheus Aleluia, who has just released a solo album.

Banda Black Rio “Mr Funky Samba”
The album Maria Fumaça is one of the greatest treasures of Brazilian funk.

Azymuth “Dear Limmertz”
The grooviest jazz trio could not be left out of this selection that I prepared.
