Deep Into Soul

Celebrating 5 years we asked our good friend Dave Lee Aka Joey Negro and New York’s Frankie Feliciano to headline along with the Hanlei girls performing 3 of their songs which was long overdue. My partner DJ Neil Pierce (Rhemi Music) was away on tour in Asia so everything was left down to me (cue violins). The party was a massive success with many of our regulars attending and all the artists brought their A game, so much so that I even contemplated sacking Neil  lol!

This party will always hold a special place in my heart and Neil’s  as we made a booking most mid-sized events can only dream about – the Basement Boys Aka DJ Spen and Teddy Douglas and Jasper Street Company Live. Just typing this brings me out in goosebumps and no words can describe the amazing vibes that night! Our Terrace Opening with NYC legend Danny Krivit alongside Local Talk’s head honcho Mad Matts, sold out quicker than any other DIS to date as a younger party going set came along to experience this incredible night.  The word was out that Deep into Soul is THE place to be for great music, vibes and a friendly atmosphere.

After hosting the official Suncebeat reunion for the past 3 years, Southport Weekender & Suncebeat head honcho,  Alex Lowes, asked us to host a DIS boat party July 2016 in Croatia. According to Alex our boat sold out in under 5 minutes, and then Neil Pierce and Opolopo took centre stage and ended up going 1 on 1 which had the crowd almost capsizing the boat!  The highlight for me was seeing many of our regulars wearing Neil and Ziggy masks (Rhemi Music) to coincide with their latest No1 smash, ‘Mask Off’, which was being hammered all over that summer including support from Louie Vega.

After a wicked Suncebeat Reunion with CJ Macintosh and Davide Florese in August we celebrated the end of summer with Fish Go Deep, Souldynamic and Sean McCabe. Italy’s Souldynamic duo nearly didn’t get to play due to Gatwick Airport being shut down due a terrorist alert.

Oh and did I forget to mention DJ Spinna doing his world-famous Wonder-full LDN party with us in conjunction with BBE Records? This was a very proud moment for Neil and myself as it’s only the second time DJ Spinna’s brought this party to London and it coincided with the legendary Stevie Wonder performing at Hyde Park 🙂

Add Chicago’s Terry Hunter and thatmanmonkz into the mix and it was a pretty good year! Huge thanks and props to our residents and guests from the UK including Rhemi Music, David Bailey, Shaun Ashby, Fiddla, Sy Sez,  Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson, Rap Saunders, Pablo Martinez, Melvo Baptiste, Verdine Logie, Martin Lodge,  Aluku Rebels, Sol Brown, Gary Gee and Mr Silk.
