Franco, Diego a warm welcome back to DMCWORLD, it’s been a minute since we’ve caught up, how are things and what have you been up to?
After a summer spent in Ibiza (Privilege) and the Riviera Romagnola (Baia Imperale) we’re back with a new single on ETNA Recordings – “Don’t Make Me cry”
You’ve steamed into 2017 with your dramatic new single ‘It’s All About You’, tell us all about it?
We wanted to talk about something that happens in most relationships and we really feel at home with this future bass atmosphere.
What is it with the Italian’s fascination with elegant grand piano arpeggios, is it a classical heritage thing?
The Piano is our favorite instrument. Everything was born in the music conservatory classrooms many years ago.
Who is the vocalist on the track and how did you hook up with her?
We are madly in love with Della’s voice. She is a professional singer and lives in Los Angeles. We contacted her through our music agency .
How would you say your production style has developed over the years and where do you see yourselves heading musically?
House music is our home. If to that you add vocal pop and an electronic sound you will have an idea of what we are capable of !!!
Were you musically trained in any instruments when you were young?
Piano and double bass at the music conservatory, keyboards and electric bass on the road.
Whats your current favourite pieces of studio kit essential to D&A’s sound?
NordLead 4 Keys Sounds – and – Nexus 2 Plug-Instrument . The first for the great sound quality, the second is a reference point in modern musical genres.
What’s been the best fun italian festival you’ve played at this year?
We don’t know. Here there isn’t a great tradition for festivals but we have have many hot clubs!
Who are some of the DJs you have enjoyed shaking your ass to this year?
We really liked Michael Calfan.
What new territories have you discovered this year on your DJ travels that you have loved?
We love Italy, Spain and Greece and Switzerland was a great surprise.
Are Hernandez Vs. DJ Tyo likely to make any new records soon?
The return of House music opens the door to a new chapter …. who knows
You own 3 record labels – Starside Records, 2Sonic Records and E-Lab Music – tell us a bit about what to expect musically on each imprint?
House music firstly, EDM and Tech the second, E-LAB is essentially our music publisher.
What are the pro’s and cons of being in a duo when it comes to making and performing music?
PRO’s: On stage there are four hands, they can do more things simultaneously live.
Cons: In our case there’s no cons : Diego is doing the deejay job and Franco is doing musician job lol, we are complementary.
Do you argue?
In our case it is very simple: Diego is the DJ, Franco uses recorded samples and overlaps. We both do the job live simultaneously, it’s very exciting, each time a little bit different from the previous one, we don’t get bored and don’t argue, never.
Tell us something about D&A that nobody knows
We keep that a secret 🙂
What aspect do you each like most about your job – Production, DJing, Radio Show, Record label management.. And why?
As we said Diego is a DJ so he likes to DJ. Franco is a musician and arranger so he likes producing so as long as we are both happy…

What else have you got lined up for us on the new year, any plans for an album?
We are planning the new single for the Summer. In the middle one or two instrumental tracks “for djs only”. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!!!
