Let your hair down – become a Yeti for the week…

Conjure up all your favourite boutique festival shenanigans; drop them into the most stunning alpine scenery you’re ever likely to see, add Gluhwein, Skiing, Snowboarding, off piste shenanigans, a world class DJ line up and 500 newly inducted Yeti’s into the mix (shake well) and you won’t even come close to the magic that awaits.

The Yeti Festival is not a ‘club 18-30’s in the snow’ nor does it prescribe to ‘in your face’ corporate branding, far from it in fact. The Yeti Festival will be stripping it back to the essentials namely; good people, good music, good times. Yeti is about making new friends from all over the continent and beyond as it reaches out to its neighbours in Slovenia, Italy, Germany as well as Austrians to come and join the party to create a true European Festival vibe.

Taking place in the jewel of the Austrian Alps, The Yeti Festival is a five-day extravaganza on the slopes, in the Alpine lodges and terrace bars and in one of the most incredible nightclub venues in Austria under Yeti HQ, The Cube. Creating all the nonsense and musical mayhem will be some of the most recognisable and influential party and festival brands in the UK, namely The Secret Garden Party, Secretsundaze, The Remix, Lost and Found and East Village as well as some of the hottest DJ talent offered up for your serious dancefloor pleasure.  Already the future looks very bright for this burgeoning alpine party.

Honouree Yeti’s include minimal-tech kingpin James Priestley, co-founder of Secret Sundaze with Giles Smith now established as one of Europe’s most popular club nights. Joining James is another hugely influential tastemaker and XFM DJ Eddy Temple-Morris of Remix fame, Secret Garden Party’s head-honcho The Head Gardener (Freddy Fellows) and East Village club owner Stuart Patterson spinning his alternative South American and Afro beats in the snow and down below . In addition to these party overlords expect a monumental set from Primal Scream, Reverend and The Makers and Kasabian producer Jagz Kooner (formerly one half of The Sabres Of Paradise), remixer du jour Radioproof and the spandex toting legend that is Tim Fanucci plus many more soon to be announced.

Professional ‘nonsense facilitators’ Lost and Found (of Bestival and Secret Garden Party fame) will host the après ski parties where you can experience some of the nonsensical festival frivolity that we have come to know and love. Some of the off-piste shenanigans we are likely to expect include The Mad Hatters Schnapps Party, Sauna Speed Dating, Pen-Quin Bowling, The Helium Yodelling Ensemble, Binocular Iceball, A Yeti Huntand many more weird and wonderful surprises.

Nassfeld has been a firm favourite and closely guarded secret amongst Austrian snow aficionados for many years. The pistes are big, wide, steep and swoopy – perfect for speed queens looking to get some serious carving in.

Non skiers are embraced, welcomed and catered for with many varied and interesting snow pursuits available from hiking and tubing to sledging and even snow biking as well as excellent nursery slopes for beginners and first-timers. Located in the Carinthia region of Austria the area benefits from the so-called ‘Adriatic low’, earning the region its ‘Snow Hole’ nickname due to its reliable and regular dumps of snow.
