What’s the best night out you’ve ever had?
I think it would have been going out on Boxing Night a year or two ago, when all my friends were back home in Belfast, in a good mood and very drunk!
Lots of cheesy music was also involved.
What’s your favourite club?
It seems easy to find fault in most clubs! I would maybe say Funkasaurus in Belfast because I always have a brilliant time when I play there- you’re about a foot away from the really up-for-it crowd and it’s very energetic!
What’s your poison?
I like so many things. In a pint glass- Guinness, in a wine glass- Champagne, in a whisky glass- a fine Scotch such as Laphroaig (I’m doing lots of research into scotch at the moment whilst reading Iain Banks’s “Raw
Spirit”)
What’s your favourite record of all time?
If I was pressed I would maybe say “I Just Called To Say I Loved You” by Stevie Wonder or something else equally sentimental.
What record can’t you stand?
I fucking hate anything that Jamie Cullum has…er…ruined.
What was the last record that you bought?
It was “My Life In A Bush Of Ghosts” by Brian Eno and David Byrne
Name your three biggest influences.
Brian Eno (as a thinker more than a musician… this is making me look like a Brian Eno obsessive), Daft Punk, Kraftwerk
Who would play you in Jupiter Ace the movie?
God, I don’t know!! Brad Pitt would be funny. Some (very kind) people tell me I look like him. Martin Freeman would be more realisitic.
What’s your dream?
I suppose it’s for life do carry on as swimmingly as it has been, and maybe even get better.
How do you escape?
Being surrounded by nature frees the mind a great deal, drinking heavily and dancing would be another method that is far less healthy…
What is your favourite possession?
I would say at the moment it’s my Korg MS20 synth. It may be usurped soon by a Radio Controlled monster truck.
What/who makes you laugh?
My friends.
When was the last time you committed a crime?
I’m comitting one right now by downloading the DMC tune of the week- Kelly Osbourne.

Do what makes you truly happy.
What is in your pockets?
Currently nothing.
If you were an animal, what animal would you be and why?
Perhaps a swan, as you can fly and you’re also pretty formidable in terms of physical strength. They have no penises though, which would be a bummer…
You are having a party whom, dead or alive, is on the guest list?
Wow! Ok, Steve Coogan, Brian Eno, Don Van Vliet aka Captain Beefheart, John Goodman, Mike Myers, Frank Zappa and George Bush junior (just to spice things up).
When was the last time that you embarrassed yourself?
I can’t think of anything other than the time (some years ago) when I was attempting a trick with matchsticks in a pub and, at the shock of rather large sparks flying into the air, leapt back, catching my arm on a freshly served pint and spilling the entire contents into my crotch.
Tell us something that we don’t know about Jupiter Ace?
I have had a pencil lead embedded in my right buttock for 17 years due to a rather painful schoolboy prank being played on me in the 80s.
