Unexpected bonuses from these rural blues by the fireside offering country-crumbed comfort; ‘Dead Wife’ doing Zuko & Olson from a rocking chair in a wooded hideaway, and the down-in-the-mouth but scathingly witty ‘In the Toilets’ coveting the romance of a quick cubicle bunk-up. Dan Michaelson pointedly fills the Nick Cave-Brad Roberts breach, letting the three minute romp ‘Something to Bang’ engulf him and happy to act like the kid in the corner, contentedly keeping himself to himself in his own little world.
