A guilty pleasure – answers on a postcard as to which environment this is best suited for – playing like a badly translated but pretty-looking cartoon agreeing to the odd moment of steadiness. Cinnamon, the Japanese pop pipsqueaks with a Canadian ringer, redefine off-kilter by ribbing the life out of old computer game consoles in a world where instruments are played backwards or upside down, and cult, outsiders-won’t-understand status is honoured through a category-defying ability to frazzle brains and for whatever reason, get fingers returning to the rewind button.
