Slip-of-a-lad Christoffer Berg mixes up warmth and frostiness on this effortlessly classy LP out of Scandinavia. Uniting with Koop’s Yukimi Nagano – Amy Winehouse-like in poring over every word – is a heavenly match, bringing diligent jazz under her spell on ‘Fading Blues’ and ‘Love Again’. ‘Keep Your Kimi’ leads a succession of delicately wrapped house style staging cheek-to-cheek slow dances for dancefloor lovers, and ‘Buddy Rich’ shows how much of a roll Berg is on in a part jazz hands, part Royal Variety techno wallop. Hird is the word.
