Kid Massive – ‘A Little Louder’ – (Pias)

Kid Massive - A Little LouderThe debut album from Danish producer Ben Pedersen, ‘A Little Louder’ is a pumped up set of a dozen songs that work the interface between pop and trance to extremely good effect. To this end a lot of the tracks are catchy, with the Peyton fronted title track and ‘Don’t Cry’ especially strong, and an array of guests that includes Sam Obernik and Mark Le Sal provide strong back up. Obernik is instantly recognisable in her two contributions, though in ‘Propaganda’ she overdoes the Lady Gaga-isms, while Pedersen takes the riff from Eurythmics’ ‘Sweet Dreams’ to the cleaners. Elsewhere on the album though it is clear Kid Massive has a good aptitude for what makes things catchy, and as a result ‘A Little Louder’ is very good in its field, capable of satisfying both daytime and underground audiences.
