LINDSTROM
IT’S A FEEDELITY AFFAIR
SMALLTOWN SUPERSOUND

Hans-Peter Lindstrom’s team up with Prins Thomas for Eskimo was a highlight of last year so his debut album is something to look forward to. It doesn’t disappoint, continuing that unique space-boogie feel which he really has cornered as his own. The album sees the Oslo-based producer rope together the singles he’s released on his Feedelity label and release them on Norway’s foremost electronic imprint. Of course the gigantic throb-up of ‘I Feel Space’ is here but also tracks from another seven EPs. The spirit of Moroder indeed cast a large ‘I Feel Love’-shaped shadow, especially on the wonderfully-titled ‘There’s A Drink In My Bedroom And I Need A Hot Lady’, but the slower tempto spacey vamps like ‘Limitations’ also recall classic NYC boogie merchants like the great Began Czecic. Lindstrom often seems to be charting unknown galaxies using that classic boogie sound as a springboard, but dub and Italo-disco also fly around like opiate fireflies. A great, personalised debut.
