Swell Session is Andreas Saag, the man behind Stateless amongst other
things. His first opus under the new name is a choice collection of twelve
collaborations with a variety of prodigious musicians. The roster includes
Mr Scruff, Jimpster, Domu and Landslide. Perhaps the most affecting track
though is the spiritually inflected ‘Prepared To Go’, with Seiji and
Ernesto, while Anni Elif’s vocal on ‘Right Off The Bat’, with LyricL in tow,
is a beguiling and uplifting experience. Saag achieves a rich variety of
music thanks to his collaborators, and the album grows stronger with every
listen – a most rewarding experience.
