Wayne Coyne’s record collection was always going to reveal something of a treasure trove, so it’s no surprise to find his contribution to ‘Late Night Tales’ is a wildly varied affair. Rather than upbeat sounds to keep you
awake, this is warm and fuzzy music to get you dreamy and soft-centred, with Bjork’s tender ‘Unravel’, Nick Drake’s serene ‘River Man’ and even the indulgent FM sounds of Ten City’s ‘I’m Not In Love’. With Radiohead and Aphex Twin also making sublime contributions, and the hard to find Flaming Lips cover of ‘Seven Nation Army’ also included, you have a superb set of twilight listening with many a twist and turn.
